Home Massage in Koramangala: Two Hours Without Leaving Your Block

Koramangala has a spa on every other corner and a traffic signal between you and all of them. Here is how an at-home session works in the blocks instead.

Koramangala is not short of places to get a massage. Across the blocks there are salons, spas and wellness studios above cafés and behind clinic signboards, and plenty of them are perfectly decent. The problem is rarely finding one. The problem is the ten minutes on 80 Feet Road, the hunt for parking on a residential cross street, the slot that starts late, and the walk back out into the noise with your shoulders already rising.

For a lot of women who live here, the neighbourhood itself is part of the tension. You work on a laptop in a flat off the Inner Ring Road, or at an office ten minutes away that somehow takes thirty, and your evenings are spent in the same few streets. A home massage in Koramangala takes one more trip out of the week and replaces it with two quiet hours in a room you already live in.

What Koramangala homes are like for a massage

Koramangala is older and more mixed than the newer layouts to its south. Within a single block you will find independent houses with a family on the ground floor and tenants above, builder-floor apartments of three or four storeys, a few larger apartment complexes, and plenty of shared flats and PGs. Each works slightly differently.

Independent houses and builder floors

These usually have the most room and the fewest formalities: no society app, no gate register. The things to think about are sound and interruption. A street-facing bedroom above a busy cross road will carry traffic noise, and a house with parents, a cook and a couple of deliveries will carry the doorbell. Pick the room furthest from the road, and tell the household that the door stays closed for two hours.

Apartment complexes

Larger buildings mean a security desk and visitor approvals. Share the therapist's name and number with security or on your society app when you book, and there is no waiting at the gate while your session time runs down. Mention the floor, too, because a folding table is carried in.

Shared flats

If you share a flat, the only real requirement is a room with a door that closes, roughly 2 metres by 2.5 metres of clear floor, and a plug point. Most Koramangala bedrooms manage this once the bed is nudged to one side. A weekday morning when flatmates are at work is often the quietest window you will get. This ten-minute preparation checklist covers the rest.

Timing a session around Koramangala traffic

Koramangala sits inside the Outer Ring Road, which makes it one of the easier parts of the city to reach at most hours. The pinch points are familiar to anyone who lives here: the Sony World junction, the stretch towards Silk Board, and the Inner Ring Road near Ejipura in the evening. A few practical suggestions:

  • Late morning to early afternoon is the smoothest window on weekdays. Offices have filled, school runs are over, and the roads between the blocks move.
  • Weekend mornings are calm and popular. If you want a Saturday or Sunday, ask early, because there are only a limited number of appointments each month.
  • Weekday evenings work, but anything that touches Silk Board after five is unpredictable, so allow a little flexibility.

Block two and a half hours in total: two hours of hands-on work plus about ten minutes of setup at each end.

Why two hours, and why at home

A great deal of Koramangala works long, screen-heavy days. Founders, product teams, designers, consultants, people on hospital shifts: the pattern in the body is similar. A head that drifts forward, a tight upper back, one shoulder higher than the other from the mouse, and a jaw that clenches without asking. Why that happens is explained here, but the short version is that it takes time to ease.

A typical sixty-minute spa booking gives you something like forty-five minutes of hands-on work, and the first twenty of those are spent simply helping your nervous system settle. Two hours changes the arithmetic. There is time for slow, broad Swedish work to warm the tissue, time for sustained deep tissue work where your particular desk has left its mark, and time for unhurried head, neck and shoulder work at the end. You do not have to choose between them; the techniques are blended around what your body presents on the day.

In Koramangala the massage is never the hard part. Getting there and getting home is.

And when it ends, you are already home. No cab back through the Sony World signal, no bill to settle beside a shelf of oils, no drive with your shoulders slowly climbing back up. You can stay lying down, shower when you like and go to bed early, which is often where the best part of a massage shows up.

How a session runs

Rana conducts every RanaRestore session himself and brings everything: the table, linens, towels and oils. You provide the room.

  1. A quiet consultation. Where it is tight today, how much pressure you like, anything to avoid. If you are managing an injury, persistent pain, pregnancy or a medical condition, please get clearance from your doctor or physiotherapist before booking.
  2. Two hours of bodywork. You stay draped throughout, with only the area being worked on uncovered. You can ask for more or less pressure, a different area, or a pause at any point.
  3. An unhurried close. No rush to get up. The table is packed away quietly and you are left to your evening.

RanaRestore sees women only, strictly by appointment. Rana is a male therapist; if that is something you want to think through, read the safety checklist for booking a home massage as a woman in Bangalore before you book anyone, including us.

What it costs in Koramangala

The Signature Session is ₹10,000 for two hours in your home. There is no travel charge in Koramangala or anywhere else in Bangalore, nothing is added at the end, and nothing is sold to you. For how that compares with salons, day spas and hotel spas across the city, see the 2026 price comparison.

If you are just outside Koramangala

The same notes hold in the neighbourhoods around it, with small differences. HSR Layout is mostly newer apartments, and the Silk Board question cuts the other way. Indiranagar, up the Inner Ring Road, has more independent houses and a quieter weekday daytime. If you are further south in Jayanagar or JP Nagar, the timing advice is much the same. And if you are in Bellandur or along Sarjapur Road, the arrival window is a little wider and morning slots tend to suit best.

Questions people ask

Do you come to all parts of Koramangala?

Yes. RanaRestore visits homes across all of Koramangala's blocks, and across the rest of Bangalore, with no travel charge. Sessions are for women only and strictly by appointment.

What is the best time for a home massage in Koramangala?

Late morning to early afternoon on weekdays is usually smoothest, because the roads between the blocks move freely. Weekend mornings are calm but fill up first. Evenings work, though anything near Silk Board after five can be unpredictable.

Almost always. You need roughly 2m x 2.5m of clear floor, a door that closes and a plug point. In most Koramangala bedrooms that simply means moving the bed a little to one side.

How much does a home massage in Koramangala cost?
